For anyone like me for whom the Welsh guitar wizard was an early hero - and also like me lent half his precious vinyl to friends whilst drunk and next morning couldn't figure out where they'd gone - BGO have released four digitally remastered albums in one collection, including the classic Sky In My Pie (with Pete Berryman). My friend Phil and I spent many hours learning some of these tunes and songs, with mixed success! I'm just listening to Morning Brings The Light - so many great memories. Feeling nostalgic

Ohhh... I have two of the four. Should I buy it or not? I've added it to my list just in case...
Saw Pete Berryman last year with Wizz Jones.
Would love to see John James!

Good shout Andy P! John James is fab - saw him in Sheffield several times late 1960s and early 1970s. I have SiMP and MbtL LPs, and also SimP on CD, but the collection here looks irresistable.... Spooky, Andy, I was listening to MbtL recently too! Keith

I remember seeing John James great playing and great repartee. The other day I was listening to one of the Mike Harding podcasts and a tune absolutely amazed me it turned out to be one by Dave Evans, there were some damned good tunes in the seventies. It's always a mystery to me that the only think remembered about the seventies is the Austin Alegro

The other day I was listening to one of the Mike Harding podcasts and a tune absolutely amazed me it turned out to be one by Dave Evans, there were some damned good tunes in the seventies. It's always a mystery to me that the only think remembered about the seventies is the Austin Alegro Yes he was always very entertaining. I always remember his introduction to a Django Reinhardt tune (delivered with his slow Welsh drawl): "Right, I'm now going to play a tune by the great Djan-go Reinhardt, the FAST-EST guitar player the world has ever known", has a sip of his drink... "OK, here we go then....Djan-go Reinhardt, the FAST-EST guitar player in the world", clears his throat, another drink... "Right, did I mention this tune is by Djan-go Reinhardt, the FAST-EST guitar player of all time?", tweaks the tuning, just about to hit the first notes... "This is one of his slow-er ones...." Classic. Dave Evans - yes, he was amazing. Must search out some recordings!
