A second hand Yamaha Stagepas might fit the bill? They generally sound pretty decent, although they can be a bit under powered in a noisy pub. You could get a powered cab - something like a Mackie Thump 12 and a small mixer, which would allow you the possibility of adding a second speaker when funds allow. There's a bunch of acoustic amps that will take a mic input that might work for you but I don't have a lot of experience with them. Alternatively there's small PA/Karaoke contraptions like this around in your budget - but I've never met one I would describe as having a 'decent, clear sound' unfortunately, although of course your mileage could vary.

Marshall AS50D was fine for me until I got something better. A bit heavy, but works well especially if you buy the stand to put it on. Oddly enough, I have my old one for sale including a stand and cover. It's in pretty good nick. PM me if you're interested.

Scorpiodog's Marshall looks very nice! I've not used one of these before, but they get very good reviews. They don't look as cool as the Marshall though, they are more of an AER or Tanglewood acoustic amp copy: Harley Benton Acoustic Amp
