My friends Buddy Mondlock and Mike Lindauer are coming to the UK on 31st May and are looking for gigs. Can anyone help with a venue or suggestion for the week or 10 days after that. I have two provisional gig so far in the Liverpool/Manchester area. Buddy is a successful singer songwriter who has written songs recorded by, among others, Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, Maura O Connell, Guy Clark and Garth Brooks. He also co wrote the songs on Art Garfunkel's album Everything Waits to be Noticed and toured with him. You may have seen him on that tour. Mike is bass player to the stars. He will be familiar to some as Al Stewart's bass player on many of his UK tours. www.buddymondlock.comAll help gratefully received. I have a number of American singer/songwriter friends looking to tour over here. It would be great to get a circuit lined up that we could use. Thanks

In Birmingham they should contact the Kitchen Garden Café - there is a website. The owner loves his Americana and is also bringing over people from Nashville and Texas.
It is a small venue but he has a great B&B deal with some music lovers and the evens out expense and fee to some extent. These guys seem right up his street

In Edinburgh you could try Stramash. They put on a lot of bands of different genres. There's also something called String Jam Club in Selkirk, which specialises in Americana.

... they'll be booked up for May, but Leith Folk Club and Kirkcaldy Acoustic Music Club put on Americana acts.

The local venue where I play often books travelling acoustic musicians. It's a small bistro in Brodick on the Isle of Arran called Fiddlers. fiddlersmusicbar.com/There's a possibility of playing on a Saturday night and Sunday afternoon too. There's also the Pierhead Tavern in Lamlash - contact Jane Howe. I can PM you contact details if you think a trip to Arran would be worthwhile. Tim May and Fred Carpenter came over a couple of years ago with Matt Flinner and Todd Phillips and it was a great night. They're coming back this year. www.thepht.co.uk/They could maybe even squeeze into the main village hall for the Arran Folk Festival in June, although I think the bookings are in hand now for that.

dreadnought28 for East Anglia you could try Acoustic Promotions, they organised the recent Steve Tilston gig in Norwich and then Colchester I think, a mini circuit of two or three regional gigs: facebook.com/acousticpromo You could also try the Arts Centre in Norwich.
