Wow!! That's a blast from the past I had all these on cassettes before downloading them quite a few years ago. They are very well put together and certainly worth a listen to anyone interested in the blues. I seem to remember some other programme's as well about more modern players from this side of the pond. I remember these. Great programmes. For me Grossman is an odd character but these are superb.

I once bought a Martin Jumbo Stefan Grossman signature model - and then realised a few days later that I couldn't live with the ridiculously chunky neck - not one of my smarter acquisitions...!!

Sounded great - a little "warm" perhaps, not as clear in the top end as I normally like, but still a lovely sound.

Stefan Grossman's videos (both the ones he taught himself and others in the series by guys like John Renbourne) are what got me started with the old fingerpicking, many moons ago. I'll check out the downloads... thanks for sharing.

I remember these. Great programmes. For me Grossman is an odd character but these are superb. I played a gig supporting him (on the Isle of Bute) just after I gave up my evil day job. He came across as a genuinely decent guy. When he found out the sound man's 11 year old grandson played, the boy suddenly found himself holding several thousand pounds worth of custom built Martin as he was enthusiastically coached by the man himself.

Great series on the Blues. I’ve been fortunate to attend two of his bues weekends in Sydney, they were brilliant and he’s a great teacher and a nice guy. I also owned his Martin signature and I regret selling it. The neck was big!

I guess we all owe Stefan a big debt given most of us learnt from his books and from the others published by Kicking Mule records. I listened to four of these last night and they are excellent and mercifully brief programmes.
I've chatted to him a few times at gigs and he seemed one of the world's genuinely nice people. As a performer he never quite did it for me though, everything seemed a bit too smooth and polished. I wanted a bit more grit and aggression.
Now, see Rory Block live — now that is something of the real deal. Real drive and passion.
