Was listening to an excellent trio last night - good old fashioned country: acoustic guitar, upright bass, and fiddle. The guitarist was playing a Waterloo. What a gorgeous sound! I'd never heard of them before, but it turns out they're made by Collings. I'm highly impressed (and jealous!).

They're great sounding bluesy guitars, a modern L-00. I have one on my wish list.

There are a few Waterloo owners around here - no don’t they will be around soon. Have played a few now -‘ladder braced and x braced. They certainly have the old vibe nailed.

I’ve got a couple - a WL-14 and a WL-S, both ladder braced. They sound wonderful, record fabulously and feel great. I’ve never found a better fit for me. Just had some new pickups installed in mine, thumbs up so far! IMG_1870 by Amit Dattani, on Flickr

I own two as well a ladder braced WL14 and the Custom braced WL K. They are great guitars and opened up really quick. I’ve sold two high end acoustics as they don’t get played. I’ve had the WL 14 for 3 years and it lives in CGCGCE and the WL K is my country blues guitar. They are allot more than just blues guitars though.

I can confirm that the Waterloo WL-14 is a fine sounding instrument in Amit 's hands. Less so when he briefly handed it to me, but such is life

This one sounds good in the hands of Julian Lage Do they still leave the glue squeeze out inside the guitars in the Waterloo range? Phil

A K&K Trinity for each. Really enjoying them! Better than the Rare Earth? Yep, for the stuff I'm playing now. When I've played in bands in louder rooms, the Rare Earth cut through nicely, it's wonderful. But I'm preferring the greater dynamics and more natural tone of the K&K for my solo work, really captures the sweetness of those Waterloo's in a way the Rare Earth didn't.
