I had the pleasure yesterday of meeting Alister, Andy and Dave up at Akin guitars near Canterbury.
While I was there I picked up a copy of Alisters 1st Album "In Time" which is well worth a listen some great tracks on there, Video of the 1st track "Tom" below

Sorry to disappoint but no afraid not , he had some lovely stuff on display that's on the website shop but the purpose of the visit was to get something checked out on my existing OM rather than buy something new. I already have one guitar that's massively better than my ability and think that's probably enough to be going on with. Doesn't stop me having frequent GAS urges! but common sense usually prevails mind you he had some lovely J45s in

Very enjoyable - he has a good voice I already have one guitar that's massively better than my ability and think that's probably enough to be going on with. Doesn't stop me having frequent GAS urges! but common sense usually prevails mind you he had some lovely J45s in Treat yourself to a J45 Peter because in my opinion it's not about matching a persons ability, it's about what you enjoy as a hobby - go on, you owe it to yourself!! Cheers Phil

Hi Phil thanks for the encouragement! what I probably should have said was I already own 6 guitars: 80's Yamaha acoustic, Guild GAD 50, Atkin OM, Gibson USA Les Paul Std, Fender USA Strat Pus and an old 80's Westone thunder 3. And if I'm honest the Atkin, Gibson and Fender are all way better guitars than I am player. As you rightly say however if you can afford to own them that shouldn't really matter as they give a great deal of pleasure, (well to me at least!! ) I was in a shop the other day and the sales assistant was demonstrating a Taylor 814ce to a customer who was obviously also a friend, His comment was you'd be surprised how many of these we sell to people who aren't really that good a players, infact almost beginners, but hey why should that matter, you get home from work stressed you pick up one of these and strum a few simple chords sat infront of the fire and it just sounds so sumptuous and looks and feels so good youre happy again. Brilliant sales pitch but an element of truth in there, if you can afford it!! (3 of my collection came 2nd hand)
