The old introductory video for my YouTube channel was a bit dated, so here's a new one.
I'm not responsible for most of it - that son of mine made it and chose the clips.
Cheers and thanks.

Looks very good, is this intended for inviting participation in online lessons or to come to you?

Jonny I would imagine it is a very crowded and competitive market, do you have a USP that you could mention. I like the pitch about stress-free maybe you could expand on this.

Nice video, jonnymosco, though I'd've preferred "my name is Jonny Moss" or "I'm Jonny Moss" to "Jonny Moss here" but that's just me. Maybe Louis could also add a box with your website address when you say "please do contact me" - and I think you may need to be more specific in the video that lessons can be offered over Skype. I know that it's clear on the website, but folk might not get that far! Anyway, no use to me as you don't teach thrash metal, I shall have to go elsewhere

I'll sort out another edit from the masses of takes - who knew so few words could take so long to record? I'll get him onto the box thing, which can be done on YouTube I think. There actually is a teacher in Malton who teaches thrash metal, I hope he realises I'm not 'the competition'. Jonny

This is a good video. I agree with the other points already made. My only other thoughts - again a reflection of personal foibles - are:
The use of the the term “effortless” jarred a little. No improvement comes without some effort and commitments. “Stress free” is much better.
I found the frequent changes of shot while you are speaking a distraction from your message.
To draw potential customers in a bit more, would be helpful to say a little more about the form lessons might take and how they can be tailored to the needs of the individual, eg in person or via Skype, frequency, timing...
You could use the sequences where you are playing to show a some text boxes addressing the key question for most students: “why chose JM over other teachers”. Eg something brief about teaching experience and qualifications, performance credentials....

You are right about 'effortless', a huge amount of effort goes into the playing to appear to be effortless, perhaps in the context of the few words spoken the viewer may presume that? The 'artistic' editing was down to my son... I'll have a word! The text boxes will be coming - I'll stick the RGT logo on it somewhere too. Thanks. Jonny

Jonny It’s probably my age and upbringing. I took “effortless” literally and, having done so, glossed over the rest while mentally questioning the assertion. Brian

I liked it very much, if I ever make the plunge for lessons you would be at the top of my list (with Mark Hanson)! I think the shortness of it appeals to me and perhaps just a pointer to further details. Most importantly you come across as calm and relaxed which really appeals.

Hi Jonny, I agree with David, most importantly (obviously you can play the guitar a bit ) you come across as approachable calm and relaxed so I'd be inclined to feel like making contact. The dreadnought with the cutaway and bevel sounds incredible, well they all do, but I love that one in particular! Effortless enjoyable playing is a good strapline.

Thanks David Hutton and robmc - I owe you a drink at Halifax! The guitar is by Tom Sands - I had three of them for a day to record and the one in the video was my favourite. Cheers Jonny
