Keith, Interesting indeed - looks like a lot of fun to play. "Mohan Veena, Mohan Veena men have named her, You're so like the lady with the mystic smile." Love the idea that if the owner had practiced a bit more regularly he could have had the extra four strings Are you going to make a bid? Reminds me a bit of Stephen Sedgwick's "sitar guitar" at last year's East Anglian Guitar Festival. Also Fred Carlson's "Taproot":

Stephen's guitar was great - and a very practical, usable, versatile instrument too. I'll not be bidding on the Mohan Veena, but I'll watch it - intrigued to see what it might go for!
Taproot guitar is also intriguing, if rather complicated! It's builder looks intriguing too!

We have a storming event planned later this year featuring Michael Messer and Mohan Veena hero Manish Pingle (pronounced Pinglay)
Manish is a student of Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. He is very scary indeed!
More details closer to the time.
