Now that is an absolutely lovely little fellow - I'm sure he does sound sweet and he looks sweet as a nut too - congratulations on your lovely new guitar creamburmese! I agree with your guitar teacher - any instrument whose soundhole diameter is slightly larger than the breadth of the waist, doesn't count. You can have as many of those as you like. I look forward to hearing it's sweetness in the Plucky D! Peter

That looks a beautiful wee instrument Julie - sweet looks to match sweet sounds. Congratulations! Do you have any information as to its specification and just how much smaller is it than a normal classical guitar. Does you think the type of sound lend itself best to any particular styles / period of music? Mark

Hi Mark Its a replica of a guitar built in the romantic period - which I believe encompasses music from the mid 1700’s to the mid 1800’s though of course anythingcwritten before also. My GT played some Dowland on it and it sounded really good. It is indeed small and has more of a fundamental tone, scale length is 630 (24 3/4. ) and nut width is 48mm. I will record something when I get new strings on it
