I was wondering if there would be any interest/ enthusiasm/ likely participants in a Forum Roadtrip of an acoustic lap slide guitar similar to this one:

That’s a resounding “yes” from me... always wanted to try one of these. Never had the guts to try in front of anyone else.
So a road trip would be ideal...

I have one of Dave's 'Red Kite' lap slide guitars from when we did a guitar swap after my accident, they are not only things of beauty, but you will not believe the enormous and wonderful sound they can produce. If you get a chance to try it, jump at it, it's a unique experience. Here we are swapping guitars Colin

So how do these forum road trips work then? If it involves the chance for me to do some sliding on a nice guitar, I'm pretty sure I'd be up for it

As long as you are prepared to accept that I am unlikely to be able to create anything even vaguely musical with one of these, I should like to be included in the road trip, please, Dave.

So how do these forum road trips work then? Once enough folk have expressed an interest, davewhite will set up a schedule. You are responsible for arranging a handover with the person before you, and the person after you (they are normally geographically close as far as is possible.) The 'cost' is that you write a review of the instrument with, if possible a recording or two. That's it

I’ll give it a go as well. And at last there will be three of us near each other.

OK - it looks like there's enough interest to make this a goer. I have an urge to make a spruce topped "Red Kite" and have a lovely set of figured Claro Walnut for the back and sides. Hopefully I can get a Road Trip up and running in early 2019.
