Hi, I'm not sure what a "road-trip" means or involves, but I have a Weissenborn style guitar made by Peter Gosden of Petersfield. (I'll try to load a vid in a minute) but I was never very good with it. If this roadtrip doesn't involve travel then I'm in.
If this works - this is about my level :

Count me in as well, I have a cheapo Anderwood Weissenborn, never had the opportunity to play a quality Weissenborn style guitar so would be great to try it out, I live in central London. By the way great playing Andy.

I'm in the process of making the instrument and have started to make arrangements for the Road Trip by contacting those that have expressed an interest in taking part. If any one else wants to take part now is the time to say so.

Just reading this thread makes me want to get out John Fahey's Railroad album. That was my fav acoustic album way back and I think much of it, maybe all of it, was recorded on a Weissenborn. (or an "Eisenhower" according to the forum spellchecker!)

John Fahey was probably my favourite guitar player when I first started playing guitar, I can't say I've ever heard of his railroad LP

To whet the appetite of participants of the Road Trip here's on e of my all time favourite players Ed Gerhard strutting his stuff: And in the same vein here's Thomas Oliver with his version of the theme tune to Durrasic Park - watch out for those pesky raptors

Here’s the tune that started my Weissenborn journey. I play a Tim Kill all mahogany Weiss.

So, what I've learnt from this is that I need to get a straw hat and not panic. <gulp>

This is my own personal favourite tune on the Weiss, John Wilde and Turlough Ocarolan's "Si Beag si Mhor". I've been trying to play this for some time, I'll die a happy man when I get it this good. I used to play this on the nylon string guitar, but the Weiss is a whole new ball game.
