The best ragtime guitar I ever played was about 20 years ago in Ivor’s - a mahogany and spruce Froggy. I agree with the H series - the Froggys stood out for me when I was at TNAG.

Haha Good spot Phil... Come on fess up Chris In fact I'd be really interested in a full tour of the family as I know very little about Bown/Baranik/Kinsheff/Wren guitars!! Ralph is well known here, based in York. Builds just about anything, Clive Carroll, Graham Coxon, Martin Simpson, Peter Rowan and others play his guitars. The late John Renbourn had several. Ian Brown and others on here play Ralph's guitars. Nobody better in my opinion. No website, I seem to be a conduit these days. Jamie Kinscherff is based south of Austin Texas, used to work for Taylor in the early days. Builds 3 models, Troubadour (L00) Concert (OM wish) and High Noon (SJ wish). Great guitars. I attend a gathering every year in Wimberley Texas where the majority of the attendees own Kinscherff guitars. Just got back this week from this year's gathering. Wonderful guitars. www.kinscherff.comDavid Wren is from the Jean Larrivee school, along with Linda Manzer and many others. Builds several models all beautiful and the finish is french polish. Main claim to fame is that he built guitars for Joan Baez. That's what led me to him. I saw her at New York Town Hall in 2003 and asked the guitar tech who had built her wonderful sounding guitar, which was David. He had stopped building several years earlier but started again in 2011. I got the first Wren that arrived at TAMCO and another used a couple of years later. David is also a great photographer and includes a book of construction photographs with every guitar. Have a look at his website. Great guitars. www.wrenguitarworks.comMike Baranik is another revered American builder. The guitar I have is for sale, it's got Brazilian back and sides. Lovely little guitar but the neck is just too narrow for me. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Baranik-PX-Acoustic-Guitar-Superb-instrument-Mint/292607604769www.baranikguitars.comYou are aware of Kathy Wingert guitars? Ark New Era? Chris, what is better than a Sobell, New Word.......................... Two Sobell, New Worlds, are you interested in trading?

I love my Sobell but it’s not a guitar that works well on everything for a singer using guitar as accompaniment. I can play it for hours in CGDGCD. I leave it in that tuning all the time.
