Great video, Pete. The Gretsch is the smallest body, yes? It has a great sound!

Great video, Pete. The Gretsch is the smallest body, yes? It has a great sound! Yeah, the Gretsch is the smallest by a fair way. It's only a 24" scale and doesn't weigh much, so it really feels like a toy compared to the other two. £140-worth of the finest Indonesian plywood. It's the only one you hear plugged in rather than miked up in the video, so that might give you a slightly different impression of it.

Enjoyed that Pete, I have subscribed to your mail list and Facebook. Could you tell me what strings you use on the Gibson and Gretsch. Cheers Steve.

Nickel Bronze on the Gibson & Phosphor Bronze on the other two. At the moment the Gibson & Gretsch both have 13s on, although I've usually had 12s on the Gretsch in the past (including when the sample you hear was recorded) & was thinking I might switch back next change. Ummm... not really. I have a Boss floor tuner I very rarely use. There's a boost switch on the RedEye that's handy sometimes. A tasteful amount of reverb & compression via the desk is about all the mucking about I want really.
