I live in South Shields anything resembling Nigels fine craftmanship would stand out like a sore thumb round here and there aren't that many outlets to move such instruments on. There are a couple of places in Newcastle but my betting would be on-line. There are the obvious sales sites and a couple of instrument trading sites in the NE where potential customers could be found. I am watching them daily If you live in Shields - seriously, call into Cash Converters from time to time. It was in the Jarrow branch that Adam Rhodes's guitar bouzouki turned up. The electric that I'd made for myself is a "relic" and would blend in more with the stuff there - but any of it could turn up. To be honest, it probably already has. For those of you who like looking at pictures of naked guitars, my address is www.instagram.com/nkforsterguitars/I'll load up some of my old photos for now, but i plan to take some new ones of the latest batch in the coming weeks. Are people supposed to "like" or "poke" me or something? I'm not sure how this thing works...can I spend the likes down at the paper shop? I've only got 12 fans, so please join up to make me feel better. Ta. Best, Nigel

It was but only one instrument has turned up. A guitar bouzouki turned up in Jarrow Cash Converters for £40. The rest are still missing. The feller who robbed the workshop was caught, found guilty and sentenced to 44 months inside. He'd only been out for a few days when he robbed the workshop. You can read more about it here: www.nkforsterguitars.com/blog/workshop-burglary-update/Nigel

Seasons greetings to you all. This is a call out to any left handed players out there who may have lusted after a tenor guitar of mine. I can't reveal any more just now - I'll do that in the new year. But what I can tell you is I'll only be announcing this little bit of news to my newsletter subscribers. If you'd like to sign up, you can do so here: www.nkforsterguitars.com/newsletter/Best, Nigel

I dunno if that would be your reaction if you played it. It was so explosive is the only way to describe it. Utterly responsive. A big part of that was the torrefied sitka, but also the bracing - which is super strong and light. The G-SS which I designed especially for DADGAD is a great guitar, and essentially similar in design, but opening the waist out (the D-SS) seems to make a big difference. For years I was trying to make the Sobel sound warmer without losing clarity, and this is a great way to do that. From time to time I get emails from fellers who are in their 70s. The emails usually say something like "I don't feel I want to wait 2 years for the guitar to arrive then another 5 before it opens up." Which is perfectly reasonable. For those who want a great guitar from day one, I'd go for this model, either in cedar or torrefied sitka. If you're in the market Andy, I can always make you a G-SS... Nigel www.nkforsterguitars.com
