Shoutbox

What's on your mind?
otis1960: Mind you, I do have form - I didn't see it in Iceland either (Reykjavik, not the ready meals aisle) May 13, 2024 6:20:20 GMT
colin: Yup. photos.app.goo.gl/rsfcLXZHdQLmoGPH8 May 13, 2024 18:42:53 GMT
newdave: it's all gone a bit Doctor Who May 14, 2024 15:39:08 GMT
otis1960: B***er - Covid again; 5 times now, I must be a viral magnet May 25, 2024 19:10:29 GMT
martinrowe: Phew - hope it's not too bad May 25, 2024 21:11:53 GMT
borborygmus: There is a lot of Covid about; this version seems particularly contagious, although no worse than a very bad cold to the people I know who have caught it. It ripped through my office a week ago, in one day about 50% of the people there caught it. May 26, 2024 10:49:02 GMT
ocarolan: You're quite right , though the political and media factions don't/won't acknowledge it publicly. Just another aspect of how particularly vulnerable persons have been thrown under a bus. Again. May 26, 2024 12:50:05 GMT *
otis1960: Unfortunately it has now become another flu situation: Covid is now endemic, with genetic drift making small changes which keep it circulating, and the occasional genetic seismic shift that results in a new variant. May 26, 2024 13:02:57 GMT
otis1960: There is not much we can do to avoid it, and the vaccination programmes are always going to be playing catch up with the worst new variants. This one is not as bad as previous instances, but has still knocked me flat May 26, 2024 13:05:27 GMT
ronb: Hi, I suspect there is a bug in the system - when I try to clik on edit on a post it opens a new window and says "time is up" May 26, 2024 13:15:48 GMT
ocarolan: Once you have made a post there is an edit window beyond which it is not possible to edit your post, other than by requesting moderator assistance. There are good reasons for this, but the Shoutbox is not the place to discuss. PM staff if you wish. May 26, 2024 17:34:51 GMT
Onechordtrick: This latest COVID seems especially bad. Got me a ride in an ambulance and a night in ICU. Recovered now though May 27, 2024 11:40:21 GMT
curmudgeon: Sorry to hear Onechordtrick. Wifey and I got it earlier in May - I brought it back from the gym or changing room. We have now tested clear, but suffering "long Covid" tiredness, ached and pains, brain fog. Take care. Jun 4, 2024 13:11:45 GMT
curmudgeon: martinrowe - I have a YouTube Channel,(Silly Moustache) and I am 76, so no high energy delivery, but I still try to keep my videos under 10 minutes. Jun 4, 2024 13:26:45 GMT *
Onechordtrick: You too Jun 4, 2024 15:00:36 GMT
martinrowe: If you've got Amazon Prime there's a good film about Guy Clark on there: "Without getting killed or caught" Jun 6, 2024 17:54:32 GMT
martinrowe: Townes Van Zant joke: "I may be a lonely schizophrenic, but at least we're happy" Jun 6, 2024 17:57:05 GMT
curmudgeon: Hi martinrowe, because you told me about my Amazon Prime options I found the Film and we watched it last night. I was very fond of Guy, met him twice - played his Heiden He autographed a "special" and i've loads of bootlegs from friends in the US. Thanks. Jun 8, 2024 12:57:46 GMT
martinrowe: Yes, I enjoyed it as well - the world goes around :) Jun 8, 2024 20:36:18 GMT
scorpiodog: I watched it over the weekend. Interesting film. I felt that, for all sorts of reasons, the two Clarks and TVZ had rather sad lives. I'm sure there were high points, but they all seemed to me to be troubled. Jun 17, 2024 11:27:43 GMT
