I normally just use Amazon for everything, but is there a go to UK string supplier you all use?

Thanks guys. Checking out Fretsounds I was looking at Martin strings, and they have Lights at 12-54. I thought that would be medium tension!

Hi, strings direct for a wide choice and excellent service - order before 3.p.m on your doorstep the next day .. but not the cheapest.
I buy mostly via ebay - and as I buy mostly D'addario, I get mine from Craig's Music in Bodmin which is Reddansette on ebay. someone on another forum told me that amazon beat most - but I'm kinda negative about amazon - they don't pay their taxes and they put other dealers out of business - and I hate that "prime" trick they play on you!

Interesting - hadn't heard of Fretsounds. They don't do D'addario? I've heard Americans talk about DR strings but strange that they don't make a medium gauge.
Are DRs round cores?

Hello there,
I think Fretounds are gently expanding their range, but I couldn't see "dads."
Only DR sunbeams, I think , are round core, and I really only use 12's for everything so not sure about others.
It might be worth asking them...
kind regards Peter

I've just sold my post office and I have an account with String and Things. Guess I'm gonna have to give all that up now It's a small price to pay I guess, but I did enjoy selling strings and things in my shop. Nobody took it on when I closed the doors so there's nowhere on the Isle of Arran now. Shame.

Thought - If you like D'addarion strings - then I'd suggest Craig's Music in Bodmin. (Reddansette on ebay)
Not as fast as Strings direct but if you can plan ahead for a few days - they usually offer the best prices on ebay. Good customer service too.
Strings Direct probably offer the widest choice but are no longer the cheapest.

I'll probably go Strings Direct or Amazon Hi, the advantage of Ebay for me is that you are buying from small independents not ebay itself - as you are with amazon.
Both enormous US based conglomerates of course, but I like to think that with ebay some smaller businesses are getting my trade.
My disabled daughter-in-law runs a successful business on ebay, which I think is really cool of her.
