. . . followed by the top one.
The Cuban Mahogany X brace cap is glued on using fish glue.
The back braces are then carved and the back is “voiced” – here’s the result.
The linings are notched to accept the brace ends and the back is glued to the rim-set using fish glue.

Oops! All images seem to have disappeared? At least, they are not visible in my browser right now.

Thanks, Keith I did a check and found out that images were still on Dave’s website, but all threads containing Dave’s pictures on this site seem to lack them. It may be a temporary problem with the image host?

It may be a temporary problem with the image host? You may be right. Using my super-powers I checked and the image links do appear in the raw posts here but the pics aren't displaying. Maybe Martin can explain? Keith

Looks like it's an issue between the Forum software and Mr Site websites so until it is resolved I suggest that those interested follow progress on the page of my website that ocarolan referenced above.

Not a perfect solution but needs must. I'll keep this build thread going with links to the images - click the link and the image should pop up in another window, close that and you will be back to this thread. Alternatively follow it on my website.
EDIT: Piccies are now re-hosted and embedded here for your convenience and delectation The Caucasian Spruce top plates are initially thicknessed, jointed and glued using hot hide glue and the tent method:
The soundhole is going to be “bound” with Cuban Mahogany. Firstly a Cuban Mahogany soundhole patch is cut to shape and glued on using hot hide glue and a caul:
Then the rosette is routed out: Then a rosette channel is cut in the top down to the soundhole patch:
The Cuban Mahogany rosette ring and black/ pear/ black outer purfling are test fitted and glued in using white pva glue:
Next a step is routed in the inner edge of the rosette and then the soundhole is routed out. This gives the look of a totally bound soundhole and the fingerboard edge will finish at the beginning of the step to give a complete Mahogany ring around the inner edge of the soundhole:
The top is then cut close to the final shape:
