Hi, this just occurred to me.
My picking pal and probably closest friend Bob, bought a National Style "O" with an "antiqued" finish, some time ago, and gave it to my luthier at the time to do a neck reset.
He'd done my Estralita and all was well, but whilst re-assembling the bell brass body of Bob's guitar, it split along the join between the back and sides on the tail.
My luthier friend tried really hard to find someone who could repair it (as metal work isn't his forte), but failed so "glued" it to get the guitar back to Bob.
It really doesn't look good, and Bob is so sick about it that he's hidden it away in the cupboard under the stairs and tries not to think about it.
He's not the kind of guy to pursue matters and so it just occurred to me that there might be someone here that might like to take on repairing the body as a project, either buying the guitar, or repairing it for Bob.
I feel a little guilty for recommending my luthier, to Bob, and Dave the luthier feels bad, so I'd kinda like to find a solution.
I'd be really happy to discuss possibilities, and organise pictures, shipping etc., and, well, whatever.
This would be a matter of bell brass brazing/soldering/whatever, and I don't underestimate the issues.
Anything that could make the guitar serviceable, saleable, playable etc, would be great.
Anybody interested?
I can be contacted on chipickers2016@gmail.com.
I'd be grateful.
ol' Andy
