Some people have no self discipline. Some people think they're better than everyone else. Oh well. Nobody's perfect.

But... I *am* better than everyone else! Well, that looks odd now that the post I was replying to has been edited LOL. Nonetheless, it's still true.

I've spent most of my life with just two guitars - one electric one acoustic. It's only in the last few years (and in my 40s) that I've become a bit of a guitaraholic. And I'm still pretty good by most standards: I have 4 acoustics and 1 electric (the electric is the same one I've had since, ooh, 1998 I'd have said)? Three of the acoustics I really like, they have something unique to the tone and playability of each one. One of them I could get rid of actually, it's not amazing, but it's so cheap I'd get no money for it to speak of so it doesn't seem worth it.
I don't have expensive guitar GAS though. My entire guitar collection has cost me less than a grand. I like cheap guitars: I take it almost as a badge of honour to find affordable but excellent sounding guitars. As they are all cheap I feel no real pressure to get rid of any, other than the embrassment I feel when my other half looks at the amount of space they take up in the spare room. If any of them were worth a significant amount of money I would, oddly, find it easier to get rid of one as there'd be something useful I could do with the cash.
I do want to get a jazz box though: for guitar no.5 I'm fiending for a nice hollowbody archtop.

I thought I'd gotten over recent bouts of GAS, and then I wake to find a local ad for a Norman acoustic at a fairly reasonable price. What am I to do......

Must confess I'm not GASing for a guitar at the moment. But I do keep looking at clarinets on eBay...

I changed the strings on my LV10 from 10s to 12s last night. It's like having a new guitar. It had a set of almost new 10s on when I bought it and because I'm mean I didn't want to throw away a set of new strings so I've been waiting until they're at least a bit worn out before changing them. It's been a bit hard though and sometimes I've been quite disappointed by how insipid is sounded. Not anymore! Been playing it all morning. I might be able to resist that call of Yamaha and Breedlove after all. You'd better not shout! You'd better not cry!

Buy it. Simples. Must bookmark this to produce in my defence when the girlfriend questions the arrival of yet another acoustic in the herd...... I've acted as whipping boy many times. I have broad shoulders and am not frightened by any girlfriend other than my own. It's all worth it to get a new NGD thread on the forum.
