I was in central London yesterday. Was close by so I decided to pop into the Yamaha store and have a look at the guitars. Price reductions all over the shop. Took all my resolve to get out of there without a new guitar. There were at least three I could happily have bought on the spot.
BUT if you like Yamaha, you're in the market for a new instrument and you're in the area then do pop in. They have a lot of stuff on sale at the moment including the middle and high end stuff.
Even my fantasy guitar, the LS56, is two hundred down on the internet price.
I'm going to put the Larry LV10 up for sale soon to make space and funds for the Yamaha.

delb0y Nice! That SA2200 is a thing of rare beauty. You've reminded me of a Yamaha SG2000s I used to own. The only guitar I ever regret selling.

I'm gassing for a couple of their guitars (well 3 actually) so I can relate.

Peach guitars had a Yamaha sale a few weeks ago with huge reductions of the high end. Some were knocked down by over £1k. I have just checked and they have all gone, they now only have the lower end guitars for sale - i guess it was a sale to move out of the high end Yamaha business

I'm not ready yet anyway. I've got a long way to go to earn that guitar.

It did put a dent in my wallet but it permanently cured my 335 lust.

Spoke to the folk in the shop again today. Apparently they are no longer making the 56 series. It was only one guy making them and he's not doing it anymore. They're not sure why - production was paused for the Covid 19 thing but it was stopping anyway and now there aren't anymore.
I was a bit upset to tell the truth. They said there might be a new top of the line luxury series again in the future but couldn't tell me anything more.
I'm a bit disappointed.
Oh well. Keep practising I guess and something else will come along. It's not like there's a shortage of great guitars.

That is a nice guitar, but way out of my league

My 2200 was by far the best electric I ever owned, and way better than a 335.Amazing build quality, great sound, and utterly beautiful (in violin sunburst, at any rate). It was a big wrench to part with it, but having to thin down my collection in preparation for a downsize move; it did at least go to a good home.
