I'm a bit late but bought this over the weekend. I've been following Sarah Jaroz from her first album. This is a quality piece of work, as have been the others, but this is maybe a bit more mature and a tad more commercial — but not in a good way. This is not only the result of great songs, playing and singing but in no little part due to Producer John Leventhal who seems to have played many of the instruments.
Anyone familar with Leventhal's work there is a lot that is familiar here but Jaroz's songs give this album a veyr distinct feel. A lot of songs from this have found their way on to YouTube but the full album versions are superb.
A great album that draws a lot on Jaroz's childhood in Texas. Treat yourselves and go have a listen!

She’s a terrific writer and singer. The songs on the album are well up to her best.

surely you mean "in a good way"? I love this album, it was definitely my favourite of 2020 - great singing, writing, playing and production.
