Since the demise of our only acoustic mag, which ones do you all read now? I've had the American 'Acoustic Guitar' a few times but I'm not always impressed. And the occasional Guitar mag gets a read, but there's a lot of stuff on electric guitars which are nice to look at of course, but I don't want to read about amps and pedals! I don't know of any other acoustic only mags and I kinda miss 'our' acoustic mag.

Ah yes I've heard about this magazine, but its American. Be expensive to ship to the UK!

Hello all,
For acoustic music I think it's worthwhile finding "The Living Tradition" magazine, which has CD shop and reviews and club festival list etc.
REad about Gavin and his Fylde for example.
Kind regards
Peter.

I have been subscribing to the Fretboard Journal since issue 4. I think it’s more than worth the money as I frequently go back to the older issues. It’s the best quality guitar publication by far.

I tried them all. Most were too 'lectric loaded, which disn't interest me. I took acousticguitar vfor years but as it slowly became mostly a list of tabbed tunes and lessons and "How to play like ..etc., I faded out. The British "Acoustic" started wekll then aimed at reviewing cheaper stuff which, again didn't interest me.
Now the only mag I get on sub is the Fretboard Journal.

Fretboard stays relevant because ithas a very different business model, well ocassional! It must be really hard now having to compete for niche advertising with all of these YouTubers.
Is anyone one else feeling like me? A number of the YT channels I enjoyed are far less enjoyable now as they clearly go hell for leather for ad income — videos seem planned for click bait rather than anything else.

I still use YouYube a lot and find it a great resource. But the ads are getting worse. Not only do many now not give you the option to skip after 5 seconds and you have to watch for 20 secs and then another coms along, but some popular channels now have the video interrupted part way through with another ad. I've looked up the cost of ad-free premium but at around £13 a month its just too much.

YouTube is annoying for ads. Watch a video then half way through a spate of ads pop up

I only get the problems with ads on YouTube if I use the YouTube app on my phone. I always use a browser on both PC and phone with ad blockers and that seems to get round the problem for me.

Plus 1 for Fretboard Journal
Every one is fascinating and worth keeping. Lots of good stuff online too.

Interesting. I also use PC or laptop through Chrome browser; how do you apply the ad blockers without paying for the pro version of YouTube? FFJ
