After selling my Milsom, which in some ways may be an action that I’ll regret (except it was painful to play) I had an appetite sparked for a Rosewood bodied guitar. This led to some growing and I saw that Project Music had offers on some Furch guitars. Having recently vowed I’d never buy a guitar that I hadn’t played I was conflicted but I’m happy with my “Little Jane” and Furch have a great reputation I pressed the buy button. Whilst I was at work the courier delivered this: Furch Yellow OM, rosewood body, spruce top. In the interest of full disclosure I’d intended to get a cedar top, but I was on the train and having trouble getting payment to work on my iPad so switched to my phone and in my haste pressed the wrong button and didn’t notice the mistake until it arrived. I toyed with sending it back (but would have felt guilty about doing that) but as soon as I played it all thoughts of that went out of the window. It arrived perfectly set up and plays beautifully. The pictures don’t really do it justice, there’s some amazing texture to the body especially and I may try to get some better ones when the light improves.

Congrats on the NGD.
I myself bought a new OM, and it's a touch larger than my other one, which is a Stanford OM. Which is the same dimensions as the Furch OM's. I'm finding even though the new OM is only a cm or so larger at the lower bout, it seems to make a difference. I'm not sure my new (old) OM will be with me for long...
I hope you enjoy your new Furch though. They make wonderful guitars.

The Furch is 1cm narrower on the lower bout and the body 1.5cm shallower than the Milsom and that seems to be the comfort threshold for me. But they do make wonderful guitars.

Congrats on the new arrival. That looks rather tidy, very interested to hear it. Furch do seem to offer a great range with very reasonable pricing; I’m intrigued by the nylon crossover models, with 45mm nut, but have wisely avoided a trip to try one thus far!

Very nice! Congrats on getting your Furch guitar. Any chance of a few sound bites at a later date?

Looking for a nylon crossover and got the Furch in my sights. A certain online German based instrument store has them in stock....but I would prefer to play one prior to purchase. If you do manage to try one then please send me a pm.

I feel bound to point out that davewhite (of this parish) has built nylon-crossover guitars for both Steve Tilston and robmc. (I think there's at least one song in The Plucky Duck for which Rob has used it, and Steve uses his on stage for a few songs). You can see the build thread for Rob's crossover here: acousticsoundboard.co.uk/thread/11857/bogha-fada-dave-white Dave's 'business model' is such that it might be worth messaging him to see if what he builds suits your needs, frankieabbott. Of course, the problem with a luthier-built model is that, by definition, you can't try before you buy - but maybe robmc could give some pointers on how he has found the process and the finished product...

Managed to get a better picture of the back and sides, the gloss finish doesn’t make it easy!

Nice quartersawn rosewood. I’m so impressed that you can spot that from a picture, Colin. What’s the secret, for those uninitiated in the ways of the loofier?

That looks a very nice guitar onechordtrick congrats and enjoy. frankieabbott I do have a nylon crossover built by Dave and it's a lovely guitar... if you'd like any sound samples or have any questions feel free to PM me. I see you're a little far from Norfolk otherwise you'd also be welcome to try it, if you're in the area feel free.
