Well I certainly like the bridge design and it sounds great but I'm not fit to judge what is cool in the guitar world. Interesting history behind it though! Oh what's with the guitar wiggling at the end of a note all about? Lol I've seen quite a few players doing that.

Sounds really nice. I also like the bridge design. I'm not a fan of the binding, it's a bit too chinzy for me, but I like the fact it hasn't got an awful turtoiseshell pick guard on. I like clean looking acoustics, with all of the money put into the construction and the tonewood. Great sounding thing though.

I'd take the pickguard off my Fender if I didn't think it would look worse afterwards...

Way too much bling for my taste.

As said, a little blingy for me. Also the tone is very hard and mid focused. This suits players as excellent as Michael. I prefer a guitar that flatters my playing, with plenty of shimmer and sustain. Nice video, thanks for posting.

Yeah it sounds nice but how much! All my guitars have scratches on them. I'd hate to scratch that.

I'd already seen this video because I know Michael, and sub to his channel.
I've encountered a couple of Ralph Bown creations, over the years, mostly recreations of 12 fret Martin designs - IIRC.
He makes excellent instruments. This is a recreation of a large body Larson from a 1940s design entirely independent of the big two brands of the time.
It is 25 years old and I suspect it plays pretty well. It isn't my style but the presentation is entirely appropriate for Larson designs of the period.

It sounds fantastic in Michael's hands, but tbh, anything sounds wonderful in Michael's hands. He can even bring a tear to your eye playing a cheap Uke. I know, I've seen him do it.
But I do like this guitar, I cannot lie, bling and all. However, I don't like it £8,750's worth!

Oh yes, I remember that happening at one of your fabulous Guitar Days in Wimborne quite some years ago now (2011?) - Vic brought Michael (and his Kostal) along - and Michael played the most beautiful piece, his own Ukulele Nocturne on my (very) cheap Mahalo tenor uke. Wow. never knew that uke had it in there - sounded gorgeous. Quite a highlight of an altogether wonderful day! Keith

One of these days I ought to organise another one of those get togethers.

It sounds lovely - very mellow. Too blingy and too expensive for me though. I hope someone else enjoys it

Lovely video, thanks for the heads up. Beautiful historic replica, Ralf must have had a lot of fun building this one. I see him regularly (we both frequent the same York folk club) and will ask him about it.

Nice guitar but as others have said, far to showy for me. As for the price, it may be what these guitars go for but I could never justify that and I couldn't do the guitar justice. I've been aching for a standard series Martin but current prices are £3k plus and I doubt I would buy one at that price. I did smile when I saw the sign 'Reverb Bargain' I'd hate to see what the full retail would be. You'd need to donate a kidney or something.

The daft thing some people pay that kind of money for a ukulele. Bonkers
