Hello All
As you can tell from the Subject Header, I'm a lefty. Not been playing long, just a hobby player etc etc
I want to buy an Electro-Acoustic and have read plenty of reviews, but I'm not just going to pick one I like the look of on the Internet - I'd really like to try 2 or 3 out before I take the plunge and playing "hunt the lefty" in guitar shops is flippin difficult, as any lefty would know.
So does anyone know if there are any guitar shops in the South East that would have a decent selection of lefty's?
I'm in Hertfordshire, so I'm thinking of anywhere from Cambridge to the north right down to the south coast.
My price range is £200-£400. The ones I've done a bit of research on thus far (not that I've seen one yet, though!) have been
Yamaha APX500 Washburn WD32SCE Takamine EG481SCX Tanglewood TW28 CE XFM
Not just saying it to curry favour but this is a great forum, incidentally - some very knowledgeable types on here! So sorry to bring the average down a bit ;-)
Cheers!

Hi Jim and welcome to the forum. I'm not a lefty or a SE resident myself, but hopefully some others may have the information you're looking for

Hi jimmorissons - and a warm welcome to the Forum. I'm afraid I can't be of much use to you in your lefty-quest, but I wish you well in it - hope you'll keep us up to date with how you're getting on! Keith

Well, you want to visit the historical city of York, of course. Oh and just by luck, there's a big music shop, in the outskirts. Can't say fairer than that. Godd luck.

Well, you want to visit the historical city of York, of course. Funny you should say that, but I'm just back from a couple of days in York. I didn't encounter this particular store, but did happen upon Red Cow Music, a great little music shop which was surprisingly almost entirely acoustic. Admittedly, this did include a lot of ukes, bodhrans and accordions (and banjos), but I only spotted two electrified thingmies, and it was a pleasant, friendly little place to browse.

I'd suggest telling your wife that you've decided to end your affair with her sister but feel it's only fair to break the news face-to-face.... that'll probably get you up there this weekend

Welcome to the forum jimmorissons; hope you have fun here. hmm, my sister-in-law lives up that way ... any tips on how I explain to the Mrs why I'm suddenly keen to go and visit? I'd suggest telling your wife that you've decided to end your affair with her sister but feel it's only fair to break the news face-to-face.... that'll probably get you up there this weekend This suggestion may well work ,albeit at the risk of you making the journey without the limbs necessary to play the guitar, and perhaps without some other body parts. You could try telling High Command that you need to make a pilgrimage here, to enable you to get in touch with your feminine side, not that I am gender stereotyping of course. Brain

Just to bring you back to earth, I think Coda music has a leftie Yamaha, just out of your budget.. might be worth trying it. . regs Peter.

Well, I've opened a can of worms here, haven't I?!?!
Tell your Mrs (frantically looks over his shoulder as he types this ...) you're having an affair with her sister or take her to a chocolate shop! Leo, Brian, has it occurred to you that you're wasted on this board and that you could be making fortunes as marriage guidance counsellors? My compliments!
Peter, Yeah, that Yamaha APX700 at Coda, nice as it is, is a little out of my price range. Shame it's not a 500.
There's a nice looking Takamine in Romford, however

Any opinions (on the guitar, not the Mrs) much appreciated
Cheers! Jim

Whereabouts in the South East? Have you tried these? guitarvillage.uk.com/ in Farnham. Don't know about lefties but they will source things for you. (I pass no comment on the advice given to you above, except to say that these poor souls have been hanging round here so long their GAS addiction has reached such crystal meth proportions they could probably get bit parts in Breaking Bad. You have been warned! )
