Hi and welcome to the forum guitarman1980. I'd add to the rest by saying that Takamine do indeed make pretty good instruments and the g series is very good value for money . I've tried a few . I recently bought a Freshman and it is a superb guitar and simply blew away Taks in the same price bracket . Here's the best bit , it has an rrp of £500 but I got mine for £299 its all solid ie no laminates all real wood . It has a fishman pickup/preamp so can also be used live and it comes with a case . For that spec and that cash you'll really struggle to find better plus its worth an extra couple of hundred pounds and sounds and looks like much more . I got mine from Guitar Guitar in Edinburgh but they have other stores nationwide . The other brand id personally recommend for super guitars at excellent prices is Sigma . Look under the reviews section on this forum for a full review on mine and another newer member has also just purchased one too . Sorry meant to say my Freshman is the FA250OC . Also make sure that whatever guitar you decide upon, take time over it and try first as many guitars in the lower price range may differ in action , finish etc...Good luck with your search and let us know how you get on .

Hi all, sorry for delayed response. I finally decided to stick with the Takamine GN20 NS. After trying quite a few others none of them felt quite like the Tak did.
Really appreciate all the responses and have made a note for my next guitar purchase!
Now back to learning them blues scales!! If anyone can recommended any good books or videos for learning blues scales let me know.
Thanks y'all!

Hi Keith, yes I got the Tak on Sat. I just changed my profile pic which shows the guitar. Will get a better pic on here tomorrow!
It sounds great, really enjoying playing on it.
Thanks.

Just had a listen to your tune Something around the corner, was very nice. Lovely sound and very relaxing.

Congratulations! I think you made the right choice by just getting the guitar you liked best, rather than worrying too much about other options. Hope you enjoy it

Look him up on youtube and see what you think.

Now back to learning them blues scales!! If anyone can recommended any good books or videos for learning blues scales let me know. You could do a lot worse than contacting our very own jonnymosco ... a registered guitar tutor with lessons available via Skype so you don't even need to leave the comfort of your own chair ... and he plays a mean blues, too; I think it all started when his dog left him.
