New guitar now safely home, having braved thick fog on the A66. She is all I dreamed of and more. And she sounds even better than she looks, and she looks stunning.
I had a wonderful time with Roger and his wife, Moira. He gave me a fascinating tour of his workshop - and is most definiitely a workshop and not a factory. His stock of wood is phenomenal. Some glorious instruments in progress, including twin-necked mandos , fan frets....
I shall try to stop playing long enough tomorrow to post some pictures. In the meantime, there are not enough smiley emoticons to show how happy I am!
Brian

Great pics. A beauty, Brian. Very elegant indeed. Some great looking woods - I love dark looking guitars, and especially like the headstock veneer/black tuners combo - and the heel/cutaway design has the awkward sticky-outy sharp bit of body that many cutaways have at the heel. I can imagine you sitting holding it and poring over every square inch, almost in disbelief that it actually belongs to you! Have a great time together - very much looking forward to meeting up again at HB 5! Keith

WOW!
That's a heavyweight combination of woods there! Pretty sure it's sinker redwood/Sequoia, and quartersawn BRW!!!
I love Redwood soundboards, I think they are underappreciated in the context of things.
What's the neck made from? Sycamore and Rosewood?
Beautiful guitar. I bet it sounds even better too.

You are right about the redwood and BRW. The neck is mainly mahogany with two indian rosewood lines. The headstock is BRW and the binding are indian rosewood. Brian
