For goodyear's sake, get a grip, will you? Just remember, this is a deep and meaningful tread. Just stop falken about.

I hope that joining neck to body will be a very Kwikfit.

Hope he gets the fingerboard radial correct... if he makes an error he'll be very cross ply with himself.

It'll all turn out alright in the end - these things come in cycles you know.

Rob, I do hope you're not thinking of jacking it in. Even if it is driving you spare.

Next up, the binding of the back. There are various options:
- Standard routed channel filled with a nice piece of bent maple. (Satisfactory but involves setting up my improvised router table and bending the maple)
- The same as the front. (Involves quite a lot of work in turning and cutting out the little slugs)
- Sand out the recesses as for the front binding but leave them empty to reveal the ply structure of the sides. Sand these off a bit so that they are just a bit knobbly. (Tempting but controversial to show the insides of your ply)
- Add a binding which stands proud of the surface - probably made up of two pieces of maple. (Very tempting but would have to be glued on very securely since it would be very vulnerable to a knock)
- Round the corner off to reveal the ply structure of the sides. (Again, controversial)
- Just round the corner off slightly without revealing the structure of the sides (Very little effort for very little effect)
Obviously, I went for the last. (After all, it could always be changed into 1, 2, 3, or 5 if I felt the urge).
Here is a picture of it:
I'm getting uncomfortably close to the moment when I have to attach the strings to this strange beast and, I don't mind telling you, I'm getting a bit nervous. I'm pretty sure it'll need a central peg between heel and neck-block to keep it on the straight and narrow (as in Howe-Ormes) so I've still got to do that. The polishing isn't quite completed and the saddle and the nut both need finalising. Apart from that, it's just a matter of adding machine heads and we're away. I normally feel interested to find out what it sounds like at this point but I just feel nervous about the neck joint. I can't imagine it'll just go together and be a guitar.
Stonehenge. Stonehenge.

Go for it, Rob. One thing is guaranteed: if you DON'T put strings on her she'll NEVER be a guitar.

Rob, Looks very cool indeed - looking forward to hearing it and playing it at Halifax. Your bridge shape and the exaggerated curvature of the top makes it look even more face like - not Adolph this time but more like Marvin from "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"

Nipped round to Mike's this morning - my handy local guitarist - to get the new guitar played and he obliged (for about 15 minutes). Warning! This is unedited and contains playing/noodling/chatting etc. Feel free to get bored!

That sounds amazing - full, rich and colourful! I like the overall look too with the purfling/binding giving a very 'aristocratic' baroque appearance. So, when do these go into full production!?

Whilst at Mike's house, I had a little play on his new guitar. This one. Sadly, I didn't record my efforts. It might have provided an interesting juxtaposition: excellent guitarist on guitar knocked up by the bloke down the road versus bloke down the road on top-end guitar. I tell you, I made that guitar sound bad.
