Next week I shall be spending some time producing some video tutorials for a piece of software I've got involved with. While I have the stuff setup I thought I might take a stab at producing a couple of simple videos on recording techniques that some people seem to the real problems with. There are some great sites out there — my favourite is Graham Cochrane's Recording Revolution — but I wondered if there would be interested in some much simpler stuff? I thought I might start with Compression which seems to scare the living daylights out of people — just what do all those knobs and settings do? Yet just a simple understanding of compression can add a lot to your sound! Would there be any interest in this? And are there any other topics that might usefully be covered?
