I have to say that when I started using G7 capos I was v Pleased with them but after a while they seem to lose their grip and higher up teh F/B the seem unhappy so i noticed that my teacher was using these Jim Dunlop Vikings which seem very firm and solid and they are about 20% cheaper than the G7ts. I managed to get a deal on one at £21
Very happy with it so far

I got one and tried it for an hour or two but haven’t touched it since. No better than others and the interchangeable pads make it useless if you use it on multiple guitars. I’m happy with my Shubbs, mostly the deluxe version. G7th Newport is good but doesn’t work on all necks.

They certainly look nice, but as someone who loses capos on a fairly regular basis I'd be frightened to take it out of the house at those prices! I'm also a Shubb person (the one with the little wheel). They are pretty reliable I find and I use mine a lot! I'm sure they would last for ages if I didn't keep losing them.

That’s true about the G7s - they don’t work that brilliantly with my Santa Cruz OM - on my other two they are superb. I have the Newport (used for fingerstyle playing at home ) and a Performance which I use for singing and playing out. Oddly I am convinced they sound different!

Decided against the Thalia and got two Shubb black chrome capos instead. Highly effective, tasteful and not wallet busting...Actually I have lots of capos but seem always to come back to the Shubbs, just a great design...
Cheers, Ian

Cheers, Ian I like those black capos a lot, work perfectly and look classy. . And, with lots of capos here as well it’s the Shubbs I also come back to.
