Yes - I'd just seen about that. Made me feel rather uncomfortable in a way. And that's me not even owning a Lowden acoustic. Mark

Going down the route of many other acoustic manufacturers that have turned their hands (unsuccessfuly on the whole) to electrics. When I saw it I thought it looked quite nice actually, but that headstock is wrong- it needs to be much narrower in width.
Far more interesting news from Lowden is that they are building their very first 12 fret acoustic. Now that really is exciting!

Yes, definitely looks like an acoustic makers effort at an electric. Kind of reminds me of some of Taylor's efforts. Not my kinda thing.

On the plus side, at least this showed playing with a nice clean tone rather than the the more usual full on high volume distortion that we are often treated to in electric guitar demos. I do quite like the look of it though.

A bit zen? - or a nice tax deductible week away...? :-)

Just yet another variation on a Gibson Les Paul and lets face it Gibson nailed the design back in late 1950's. As for the sound, and granted it is just the clean signal, well it could have been my black Shaftsbury Les Paul that I used to own in the 70's or indeed a Fender Squire Telecaster through any reasonable amp. Underwhelmed Phil

It's just sales cobblers but I suppose it sounds better than "I picked the brains of a few of my electric guitar playing mates down the pub". Lowden are nice guitars but George does seem to wax lyrical to excess in his videos about these sort of things. Phil

Apparently prices will “start at £2995”.
Personally I think it’s hideous, but I’m sure it’ll make some well heeled electric player (aren’t they all meant to be dentists?) very happy.

If you think that is hideous, you obviously haven’t seen some of the electrics that TNAG have in stock. I like the through body stringing 🙂

The main reason I think this is hideous is the neck...it looks like they’ve just pulled one off the acoustic production line and whacked it on here. Just looks wrong. Many (not all) of the electrics at TNAG are more thoroughly hideous, I’d agree. What’s wrong with a Telecaster?

What’s wrong with a Telecaster? Isn't that what "Rock Gods" used to do out of their hotel room windows

Jiminy Christmas! What even *is* that? It sounds great in Stuart Ryan's hands of course, but my eyes, my eyes...
