Kate Rusby has recently released a double album of many of her favourites to celebrate 20 years in the folk biz. The tracks are all new recordings with guest appearances on pretty much all the tracks either instrumentally or providing harmonies [or both!]. The guests include..Chris Thile, Paul Weller, John Doyle, Nic Jones, Sarah Jarosz, Eddi Reader, Dick Gaughan, Ron Block, Richard Thompson, Jerry Douglas, Jim Causley, Bob Fox, Paul Brady, Dave Burland and Mary Chapin Carpenter...plus her usual band members of course. Some of the collaborations work better than others but overall a really enjoyable and interesting compilation for any KR fans out there.

Good call Andrew - I have 20, though haven't done anything more than a quick button flick through the track beginnings - looking forward to a proper listen sometime when Mrs O'C is out! Keith

After three albums I sort of fell out of like with Ms. Rusby, I'm afraid. I'd heard one too many songs sung in the same register and with rather similar arrangements. But as you reckon the new one is worth a go, Andrew, I'll pick it up. I do need a bit of a lightener, as I've been overdosing on The Unthanks and Emily Portman lately.

Have to agree. I had 2 of Kate's CDs but had trouble determining one from the other. All too samey.
