I've been trying to find out where I can get a set of these tuners (below), which I first saw on my pal's Yamaha LL26. I think they're really cool, and I thought I'd cracked it when I found them included on the spec list for the guitar as Gotoh SE700XG. Unfortunately, despite a few Google searches and even checking Gotoh's main website, I can't seem to find anywhere I can buy them. Anyone know any less obvious sources for this particular part?

Thanks Francis, those are close, but I'm looking for these specific Gotohs in the cool, antique gold finish with that groovy shape, man

They could be made for Yamaha only for their guitars... Those are 14;1 ratio tuners

Martin, The closest I could find were these at Allparts but they have the scalloped buttons: SE700Gotoh are tricky to get - if you need them ordered you need to find someone with an account with them willing to order them in and the process can take up to six months. Good luck with your hunt.

Cheers Dave, yes those are really close in terms of finish, but just the buttons as you say. I'll keep an eye out - wonder if it's worth an email to Yamaha...

Martin I did used to used those, but gave up trying to find them, that's why I switched to the Schertler. Madinter is where I got mine but they don't carry that type now as far as I know.

Thanks Jonny & Colin. I did check Madinter without success (before I read your post Colin!). Ah well, maybe they'll turn up on ebay sometime...

Martin, Looking at the current Gotoh catalogue that button style doesn't seem to be an option for the SE series tuners so perhaps as Francis says they may be made specially for Yamaha. If this is the case you may have to buy a Yamaha guitar with them on, swap out the tuners and sell the Yamaha on

I’d be tempted to buy a Yamaha with those tuners, switch them with yours, and sell the guitar for what you bought it for. I’ve bought guitars before just for the case and sold them on with a generic case for similar money...

That seems a bit extreme, but I think it might be a way to go, plus it will indulge my inner GAS for a while too. I'll keep a look out for likely Yammies then - thanks guys
