I often sound as if I'm wearing gloves... BUT I do have an idea about nail strength, you can use a brush on liquid that feeds , strenthens and softens at the same time, from "Amazing Nails 4 Guitarists" sorry no link...
Definately worth having a look cos they have different applications for different styles / guitars
Bye for now Peter.

Well I listened twice and felt like this both times
Track 3: Ist cos itb souded the most rounded and sweet treble
TRack 2: 2nd sounded more bassy , but a scratchy treble
Track1: always last , lacked bass and trebles still scratchy
Hope that will help the game progress besr regs Peter

It's always intersting to know whats going on inside guitars!
The one things in Larrivees favour is that with time and in particular with use, they will relax themselves, but keep that sound that sometimes grabs you...
How do you feel about that idea?

Hello all, I've got a pre owned L 09
you can usually find some used Larrivees at Frailers, near Runcorn but have a website.
There is also a Larrivee guitar forum that might be fruitful for info at least, and they do have UK poster s on it...some might even post here already I think!
hope that helps best regs Peter

Hello again, I don't want to sound argumentative but you can get an 02 for under 800. eg Wunjo, which I thought was a smidhge over your starting price. Apologies if I'm being thick or missing something...

Hello all, these discussions are always interesting!
The question that springs to my mind is about the apparent randomness. If Rigid Geometery is repeatable, then it is carefully worked out and written to sound random, but by definition it isn't random. Why can't we play with real abandon?
As to wether it 's listenable or not, I guess it's like strings, tonewoods, genres, plectrums ad infinitum that people can only disagree about, but you never know you might just find something to think about...
Think I'll go and watch the rugby...

I know this subject is as debateable as what strings to use, but I use all sorts of Fred Kelly "slick" and "regular" picks and find I like to have option of both delrin and the other, stuff , and I like their nylon plectrums too, just better for my ear than Dunlo! I used to fiddle and adapt with the other makes but not any longer...

When I was only about 12, my elder sister's boyfriend, now my brother in law, used to have a nameless arch- top, and would bring his Joan Baez records, and they used to chat about who was the best between her and Julie Felix.
Later like most people I guess, I heard Fairport, Steeleye and "Alice's Restauraunt" and then had Tatra nylon string.

Just for info's sake , and so as I don't have to think too hard , I'll recommend a book by Dorian Lynskey, called 33 Revolutions per Minute: A History of Protest Songs, published by Faber, in 2010.
Plenty of lists , definitions and controversies to boot in that.

I think it's good to be focused if you can be, but I've noticed that someone like Eric Bibb can turn up on every Radio 2 show, ie the blues on Monday, the Jazz on tues. , the folk on Weds, and Bob Harriss on thurs. Which must be a sign of rollover and immaterial boundaries....
I never know what to practice either!

I have to say that I don't listen to much jazz as such, pardon the pun, and would say that I prefer folk and blues. BUT, but I've always felt comfortable listening to Pentangle, for example as a band and as individuals. Scott Joplin's music was also "a blend of jazz and classical" to quote Spencer Dodge, and most people seem to like that. I like all the above examples too, and sometimes I listen to the Radio 2 show at 8pm on Tuesdays, and that covers loads of different styles, and shows how much potential listening there is! Maybe that's what folk and the blues means....

|Hello there, thanks for that.
I've not heard him or the song before, and I think he sums it all up nicely, with just enough scorn, and a smidge of sympathy...
