A quick photo of the pore filled body...Ted said that he has experimented with various products for the pore filling process but has been using CA glue for a while now With great results...It dries quickly, is completely clear and tends not to sink back as most fillers do...The surface is now perfectly flat and so now the fun begins with Ted starting the spraying process.

Congratulations on the order..keep us all in the loop once the build starts...The c3 is mighty indeed...What swayed you over the c2? You will not be disappointed 👍 If I get any info on the build i will try to post. Couple of reasons for the c3 over the c2 as a result of personal choice. First, i am more generally a fan of larger/jumbo guitars, second, the c3 is reputed to suit lower tunings and i tend to be dropped down a tone or two. Hope it turns out ok and Michael Watts & Ben at TNAG seemed to think it will. Happy to do a comparison when it arrives. Mine will be ABW/spruce fan fret. yours looks stunning. I had heard about the c3 suiting alternative tunings.I am sure Michael will put it through its paces when it arrives.Great choice with the ABW and spruce and the fan fret has always intrigued me.Photos don't always do the ABW justice as a figurative wood as it is just so dark but thought I would send a couple of images Keep us informed when you know anything

I mentioned early in the post that i was considering doing the Casimi guitar building course..All the details for this can be found on their own website but if you follow the link below you will get an idea of what it is all about..I find it fascinating to look at others ideas and work..There is also a build thread on The AGF forum (sorry moderators) that showcases one of the students work from start to finish www.facebook.com/CasimiGuitarsSchoolofLuthiery/

Obviously very high quality build, probably sounds wonderful, it's always seemed to me that most good guitars do, but I can't help it I just don't like the bridge, the headstock or the way the soundhole 'rosette' flows into the cutaway. Maybe when the top has aged a bit and the whole design has kind of mellowed out...? Sorry, there's always one dissenting Old Curmudgeon somewhere, just happens to be me today. No need to say sorry..Stated in the thread that it wouldn't be to everyone's taste and i appreciate that wholeheartedly....I have pretty traditional tastes usually so i departed from the norm with this one Thanks for looking at the thread

Ah, interesting. So the magnetic bit is really only cosmetic. Really looks fantastic. Everything about it from the hollow headstock to the deep shine. Truly a thing of beauty. The slots hold the ball end of the string in place..the fancy block is cosmetic but I'm guessing also serves a backup insurance in case things go wrong and they wiggle free or aren't seated properly...it certainly has a super strength magnet in it and seats with a very reassuring snap

Weird but gorgeous, and I treated myself to a few sound clips like the one posted above last night through my headphones. It has a HUGE sound - just amazing. Now let's see....Google tells me I can drive to Aberdeen in 2 hours 46 mins, so I could have this baby in my hands by, say....3.24pm today Plus another 40 mins North on top of that...however should point out that I usually walk the dog (or other way about) around about that time so might not be in when you come knocking...lets reschedule

I mentioned in the thread that the bevels of the guitar made it very comfy to play...Was changing strings this morning and thought I would try and get a shot of them They are very subtle in their execution and blend in really well with the rest of the guitar

Stunning guitar. I envy you. Believe me, I am extremely fortunate to be in a position to own this and I do not take it for granted at all.

I have had a good few months playing this guitar, and thought I would share some of my musings with you..not an in depth review as my writing skills about as good as my playing (not very) the guitar in question Trying to be objective when it is you're own guitar you are reviewing is pretty hard, however don't feel too sorry for me as the Casimi has very few points to criticise.Of course the high price is an issue, but I hope you will indulge me in keeping the review to the guitars points as opposed to value as this is only subjective to the person buying at the time (I think) I am genuinely excited every time I get the case out and open it up,because I love the shape of the Casimi and know what's in store sound wise and playability wise..This one has a very soft Venetian cutaway as opposed to the standard sharper looking Florentine one ,and to me anyway looks just great and a bit more traditional. The guitar is a 12 fret model with lots of Casimi signature highlights such as the hollow headstock, pinless bridge and intricate rosette . Describing the sound fills my head with words like big, huge, colossal and certainly the guitar is all of those, however it is capable of very intricate sounds and volumes too. Each string has a clear separation to it and works just great, never having any one string take centre stage unless you ask for it in a particular piece...all in all an extremely balanced sound, although i have to confess that it has taxed my skills in trying to play softly and getting the most out of the volume I want as opposed to what it wants to give me...it wants to be heard. With the shorter and very comfy neck, belly and arm bevels and pinched waist it is one of the most comfortable guitars I have ever thrown an arm over and invites you to partake in long playing/practicing sessions..it really is superb and describing it as becoming one with the player is not far from the truth...all I know is that even after extended sessions I am always amazed at how comfortable I am,and not fidgeting about trying to get a good playing position. This definitely leads me to play better and interact with the guitar as a whole. The build of the guitar really shows up the skills of the guy's at Casimi and I can't fault it.in conjunction with the use of the best woods they can source you have an instrument that is at the very highest level of craftsmanship anywhere and as close as I look I can't find anything to be bothered about..just fantastic design, skill, knowledge and passion for what they do in one package.I am seriously considering doing their guitar building course as I really want to understand how they do what they do,and of course build a guitar with their input (watch this space for updates on this) Anyway quick review over..Price always going to be subjective and when I think on it it makes my head hurt and looks might not be to everyone's taste, and apart from having to practice more at becoming a more delicate player I just love this instrument and what it has brought to me as a long standing and suffering player/doodler.Is there such a thing as perfection..well maybe not but this guitar is as close to it as darn near possible..just amazing Take it easy everyone and if anyone up in Aberdeenshire then you are more than welcome to give her a spin, but I want her back👊

A good starting point for a guitar to have a perfect setup and great playability is to start with a perfectly flat and true fretboard from the outset with adjustments made from there The carving of the neck is now done...next step will be preparing everything for finish and pore filling the body and the neck come Monday...Ted thought using the burl on the heel cap would look great Ted has all of his inlay work done by the incredibly talented Magnus Ramel, including the signature logo...check his work out,it's just brilliant
