Not another choice to make!!! I'll be the first reviewer based on having never seen one (i.e. my usual well-informed position ), but based on the sales blurb and pic.
1. Expected price $75 !!!!!!! Which will equal about 75 quid here. That's more than my first 2 guitars cost.
2. There may well be a 'professionals' preference for this sort of u-shaped capo but when I tried one at Halifax (I think on Brian's beautiful Fylde which I tried to steal on the way home) I found it cumbersome.
No doubt when it actually appears it will have some proper reviews based on actual usage. Meantime I'll stick with the various ones I have.

They're doing a banjo model too! $75? Banjo players have to live on that for a year

Wow, I really like the look of this one, similar to a Mckinney Elliott. My biggest gripe with a Shubb is that it's too easy to miss the high E string if I am changing the position in a hurry. Wouldn't happen with this one, though $75 ain't peanuts...

I'm not sure why there is a need to reinvent the capo so drastically on a regular basis.
I have two 'normal' Shubb capos and they wonderful products.

I may be wrong, but isn't this capo design an old hat? I had one quite similar some 10 years ago.

Is that a Victorian dental brace or a thumb screw from Lubyanka?

Mmmmmm, very interesting Keith....looks like something you would use in dentistry... I think you should be the first to review and then advise accordingly Glyn

I have one of these, and this was the one that fatfingerjohn mentions above. I love that it lives behind the nut , which is very easy on my zero-fret Fylde, and that it is very compact and light on the neck when in use. No doubt I am deluding myself, but I think the tone is more even. The new Shubb looks interesting but looks rather chunky to me. It is is not cheap though, while the McKinney Elliot looks much better in every respect, that is dearer still at over £100. Brian

I have three capos at the moment, including a Shubb.
The all work reasonably well though I currently favour the new G7 (will probably be back to a Planet Waves next week).
That much money for a capo? Madness.

The new Shubb looks decent, and I 'googled' the Elliott, and yes it's elegant and finely made.
It all comes down to whether you want or need this type of capo, and then whether you want one that looks better than a Paige.
I'm very happy with my old, battered standard Shubbs, especially my ancient brass one, but I'm sure this new capo will find plenty of buyers.
