Wonder why it is that often the threads about complete b*ll*x just run and run....? Keith It's the spirit of the world demanding to cut through ... No, it's the will of the people, surely...

If brexit finally happens, can we go back to 4&1/2, 4&3/8, 2&3/8 tuning ?

Apparently “...... 440Hz was chosen to avoid, or at least mitigate, any natural vibrations that would otherwise have occurred if (say) a full symphony orchestra would be performing at or near a point equidistant between two nodes....”. Interesting!

Interesting! Interesting, yes - but I'd be even more interested to know the source for that quote Rod, and who made it "chosen". So much of what appears on the interweb is prefaced by "...it is said that...", "...I have heard/read that..." etc. I've not yet managed to find any authoritative, reputable, original primary source for settling on 440. Maybe your quote could be the one ... or maybe .... Keith

Keith According to this article: globalnews.ca/news/4194106/440-hz-conspiracy-music/ (which may have been quoted before) it was the Italians but I’m not sure that counts as a primary source.

Given the date I posted this I believed I had to wrap it up a bit as a quote... agreed you certainly can't rely on what crops up on the web...
