That’s a monster machine with quite a long scale. Was that scale associated with those vintage guitars?

I am a bit worried we're suddenly going to hear loads of new songs about trains! A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I did a short gig with a friend for a Christmas party held by the Merseyside Historic Railway Society. Every song had to include a train. You'll be pleased to know I've made a full recovery. Here's our set list. King Of The Road Freight Train, Freight Train Train Leaves Here This Morning Milwaukee Blues Freight Train Boogie City Of New Orleans Harmless I suppose :-)

It goes around and comes around doesn't it? When I were a lad ('70's) anything smaller than a dreadnought seemed silly. I expect in a few months whopping Gibson jumbos will be the rage. It'd be interesting to know the annual UK sales figures for acoustic guitars by size over the past few years. Pre-Sheeran I'd have thought the peak would be around OM. I reckon — across the board — a small jumbo/deadnaight — size would be the most popular. But these little things are coming up fast ...

I thought the wee Lowden extremely disappointing and extremely expensive for what it was. I suspect I will feel the same about this budget model.
Go to any open mic and watch what youngsters are playing and it’s always a tiny guitar. This might be a shrewd business move.

colins the last thing g you have to worry about is whether somebody will play Stairway. I suspect Smoke on the Water will also be there! That's what I was afraid of andyhowell . Maybe making an electric for Halifax wasn't the best Idea I've ever had!
Of course, I will tune it straight to DADGAD and start playing the blues. Mind you, didn't Jimmy Page use DADGAD a lot?
It looks a fab guitar though.

I always think it is worth practicing recording voice and guitar seperately. However, it can be done :-) Keith is right about the H2N. I'm reviewing this at the moment and here is a tune recorded 'live' with just the H2N. The Philidephia Homecoming BluesThis is deliberately a rough recording with minimal processing on this —± I do find that I often have to role off the top end a bit. But with a bit of extra processing this would be more than acceptable.
Here is a more polished recording of my mate Andy Jenkins, better mics and proper processing — but still live: No AngelDon't tell anyone, but I'm currently putting together a series of home rerding videos for Acoustic Soundboard and I'll add this subject to the list. These should be up in a few weeks. I hope to supplement them with some podcasts (featuring home recorders here) to answer some of your questions. Watch this space!

martinrowe What you need is a basic series of settings that you are happy with and the. Just so every time (with maybe an occasional tweak).

Oh, and don’t record with reverb in the hour headphones. I know it sounds great but it just makes it easier to sing out of tune!

Stay tuned for some help coming into the next few weeks!
Reverb. If you have a mix tool then select a reverb you like and then mix it out until you can almost not hear jt.
Or, send to an aux track and effectively do the same. If you can hear it clearly there may be too much.
You might find a touch of delay works better for vocals
