Hi, Gig done, all went well and both the audience and the performer seemed to enjoy ... . I had no problems with the external microphone, and also the audience seemed to like the sound; actually the external mic worked so well that I used with both my guitars. Some "loyal listeners" said it sounded more like a guitar than before. I had the microphone about 20cm from the fretboard, pointing at the 12th fret, and monitors were at very low volume. The soundman seemed happy, too. I didn't feel that the microphone would have restricted my movements or anything. ...so when I'll be playing for an attentive audience in quiet surroundings, I'll probably be using external microphone in the future as well .

The Headway can deal with a stereo signal - from say an internal mic and piezo. it is a stereo jack input - the signal is then split and the individual blend can be set as Channel 1 and 2 respectively!

^The EDB-1 is indeed an impressively-spexed DI/pre. However, it does not seem optimal for blending piezo and condenser, as the same EQ setting applies to both channels, if I understand correctly --- thus, the high-cut for the piezo should be done in a preamp that is before the EDB-1 in the signal chain.
There are not too many compactly-sized boxes that would offer two-channel EQ, or at least EQ bypass for one channel. DTar Solstice, Schertler Yellow, K&K Quantum --- would you know any other products?

I shall try and produce an 'audio' review of mine and give you a feel of how it sounds and works. Other musicians who recommended this to me swear that it is better than many alternatives that are double the price. I'm certainly very happy with it.
