I find that stuff difficult to tell unless i hear someone singing the harmony - then I know if it works for me. The alternative, which I think they've got, is 'sparse', and I like sparse. Who knows, they may play it with harmonies when they have the full band. andrewjw - mandocello playing the harmony? I like the sound of that tricone - I've heard resonator mandolins and the sound doesn't work for me, but I like the tricone. I've heard Aoife O'Donovan called 'the dangerous Aoife O'Donovan' - I can see why. Anyway, the sound of that tricone is something I haven't heard before.

martinrowe ...I really like the sparse instrument sound too. I was thinking of a vocal harmony...

Noam Pikelny is pretty awesome at whatever he does. This is worth a watch if you've not seen it before...
