Out today, in Leeds and spotted this little beauty: At a rediculously low price. It's an Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat bass. This seriously cool, retro, short scale 4-stringer, sounds great with fingers and plectrum. Just right for 60s and 70s music, in particular. She's surpringly good

Ooooh, congrats Graham - the controls and pickup postions look very 1960s. Some matching red flares with Paisley inserts would set this bass off a treat! Enjoy your new acquisition, and do let us have some pics and the usual etc etc! Keith

Lovely, very much like the Hofner Club Bass. I don't think it's totaly hollow like my violin bass but you'll still get that rumbling in your belly when you play it!

You are right, the body is chambered, not all-hollow.

Woody Allen plays bass Phil Yes, but he keeps his back to the audience.
