lefranglais - I picked grapes around there for a few weeks in the summer in the early 70's. I can't remember the exact place but it was near a place called Angouleme. It took around 3 days to hitch from Paris. Good times, except that I ran out of food and money and nearly starved. They were cognac grapes - I remember that. You could only eat so many during the day - they were a bit sharp. There were two Irishmen working on the farm as well who were on their way to Spain. We slept in a barn and started working in the early morning mist around 7.00-8.00. Good memories.

Made the pilgrimage to New Orleans in 2018, for the jazz festival. And there they were, playing in the street, along with other bands of similar ability. Wonderful stuff.
