I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this here yet!
Rooted continues where the last album left off with the same contributors (including Nancy Kerr, Andy Cutting and John Smith) and very much the same format, a mix of original material and traditional though with maybe more of a blues tint than a folk tint.
Instrumentals are to the fore as well. There are a couple of the first disc and the second disc is all instrumental. Some of these are instrumental versions of the songs on disc 1 b ut some are completely unconnected. The instrumentals might rekindle interest from some of you that are not so sure of the singing.
His owns songs are pretty good again. No doubt this will be nominated for all kinds of awards again.
