I think Brook used superglue on a friend's guitar - seriously. It wasn't a big job, just some wear around the join of the front and sides.

Andy, Yes thin superglue is often used to drop fill into a variety of different lacquers. I've done it a few times on friends guitars that had lacquer finishes. Apply with a pin and leave the drop until fully hardened, then sand back with very fine wet and dry on as small an area as possible. I then wet sand to a full polish with Micromesh cloth up to 12000 grit and finally buff out with car swirl remover.

What prompted me to ask was a pal was showing me a rather nice early 90s sunburst Gibson 175 which was virtually blemish free apart from what appeared to be a couple of grazes to the top on either side of the bottom bout. On close inspection the grazes seemed to be more on top of the finish as if something had been wiped off and smeared the surface as it set. So pos an excess of superglue. I have difficulty seeing how the Frets .Com method of two pieces of sellotape on a razor blade was really going to help getting the surface flat safely without gouging. The original finish looks to be really thin and is attractively sinking into the grain it would a shame to mar it am I being too timid!
