To Show of Hands last night at Birmingham Town Hall. Simply superb.
The show was split into two half (no support). In the first half various combinations of the line up played as duos which gave a very intimate atmosphere to the evening. The second half was the full band on full throttle, concentrating mainly on the new album (which is superb). Midanda Sykes is back to add her double bass and vocals on many tunes. Percussionist Cormac Byrne is always stunning and his work with SOH rally drives the beat along.
There are still more than a few gigs left on this tour, If you get a chance pop along. Consummate musicians at the very top of their game.

I got my brother a ticket for the Harrogate gig for his birthday. He'd never come across SoH before, but he thought the whole evening was wonderful!

Yes big fan of Show of Hands, especially Phil Beer. Seen them a few times, always good value, not quite Ukulele Orchestra Of GB value, but up there. I have to say though that I prefer the 'Men in Black', tonywoods and scorpiodog, version of Cousin Jack, but I'd probably had a bit to drink. Colin
