Yes - agreed 100% - backing tracks are very useful. They also help in nailing the technique of right note choices and bringing out the characteristics of different scales. Makes for more of a musical experience while practising too. While allowing some freedom for rubato and the like, which just sound wrong when just with a metronome. Mark
