The only time I've ever been stopped by the police whilst driving it turned out he only wanted a good look at the car as he was contemplating buying one similar - half an hour of car talk. Thankfully he turned down the offer of a ride....

Banjos? That’s an arrestable offence in itself They’ll be watching you....

I was actually stopped once a long, long time ago, when driving licences were still in black and white. I was on my way to university in my fully loaded Mini estate and had to pass by Stonehenge. There was a big police operation in place and I was pulled over and asked to show my insurance etc.. I had the papers but to get them would have entailed unpacking the whole car. Fortunately the sergeant was also a coach at my canoe club and was able to vouch for me.

Well I did once canoe the river used in the film a Deliverance and some of the locals did shoot at us...

When I let him sit in the drivers seat and play with it a bit, he said "thanks! now just don't let me catch you again." Cool.

First time I was stopped for speeding was by a baby police boy, who was using his ray gun for the first time. I was driving slow looking for the next left turn, whilst anoth car was speeding past me.
did no good of course, I got booked and the speeder got away free.
Policeman's name? Constable Coshall (I kid you not!)
One time I was speeding home from work and was overtaken and stopped by a police car driver. He came over to my window and said "sir this is a really dangerous piece of road, and I'm so damned tired of clearing up dead bodies from here. Please, sir, don't speed here!" then he walked back to his car. It was the most convincing communication he could have given me - far more persuading than a ticket.
