I’ve been watching Steve Knightley’s youtube guitar/instrument tutorials. Do any of you play and own a Cuatro?
I love the sound Show of Hands get using Cuatros. I have a couple of Ukes and a Charango (bought many years ago on honeymoon in Peru). I’m thinking of following Steve’s suggestion and restringing my Tenor uke with Cuatro strings. Have any forum members done this?

scorpiodog has a cuatro, and I'd be surprised if leoroberts hasn't got one! Like the thought of trying a tenor uke the way you suggest Russell - I'd be interested to know how you get on. Keith

Welshruss, as our glorious leader has said, I do have a cuatro (and Leo has one, too) made by our very own Dave White. Smashing instrument. Great fun to play. I watched SK's video as well. And was very grateful for it. But what you may also like to know is that in one of Steve Knightley's song books (Songbook 5 on sale through their website for only a tenner) has a whole section of cuatro tabs for SoH songs, together with some basic guidance. I'd have a go at stringing a tenor UK in cuatro fashion if I were you, if the nut will take the larger 1st string. I'm sure you'll have fun with it.
