...and it's a huge thank you to Keith. He wrote a reference for me.
A good job too, I bought all the grade books for Acoustic and Classical guitar - so now I'm gonna be busy over the summer getting to know all the pieces. Actually, the acoustic grades really would be a doddle for many people here, so may be a good idea if you want something fancy on your CV.
Also a thank you to a pupil Marcus too, who must have written something convincing - I'm hoping he'll appear here even though he is more of the classical guitar persuasion.
I won't be on the RGT site till I have an address in the UK though, lost another rental property today, the third, getting a bit fed up now of signing kids up at schools and then having to apply all over again. I think I should be on the RGT site from August to start teaching in September... wherever in or around Oxford we may be.

congratulations jonny.
good luck with finding a house too, estate agents and stuff are a horrible thing to deal with. the very thought alone makes me consider being a hermit and living from a tent/campervan indefinitely.

Well done Jonny - good luck to you and your family regarding the move back here (that's quite a change you are going to have, most of us would be trying to go the other way :-), actually the UK seems to be generating a bit of cultural vibrancy again - just a hint in the air but your timing may be quite good.
Cheers
Leon

Thanks Keith. I'm thinking back to Halifax last year when we said we were moving back to the UK, little did we know how incredibly difficult it would be!
Thanks also Alig, Leon and Earwighoney - seems right to be returning now.

Thanks! I do teach by Skype. If you ever need help with anything, let me know! could be an issue - living with parents for the foreseeable future and have been the last 3 and a bit years.......also keeping 7 dogs out of the way and 2 little monkeys could prove a challenge

Why are you moving back to the UK Jonny?

Good question! The schools and more opportunities for those crazy things I do for a so-called living (artist for those who don't know). But also, with the conservatoire system here (music lessons) it is pretty much impossible to enter if you haven't been through the French system (just like the art-world then), so with RGT things should be a bit less hassle for me. Also playing live is pretty impossible with the tax the venues have to pay.
Just to put it in context, last week I was in Oxford for two nights, I was invited to play a gig (which sadly I couldn't do) and also invited to have a solo exhibition and take part in a group show... makes me wonder why I've tried to make things work here for so long. Great place to be on holiday though and the wine is cheap!
Added to that how great it will be in the UK to chat and play guitar with all the great forumites...
