"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." (Hope that isn't too much of a misquote from John Lennon.)
But good to hear you still enjoy your guitar catalogue collection. I remember drooling over especially the Bell Music Instrument catalogue as a teenager - particularly at school with my fellow guitar geeks! I think I sent off for it from their ad in Melody Maker. Literally a lifetime ago!
And yes, thanks, safe and well so far!
Keith

Hi, Looking through all my guitar catalogues, I collect them..I have a Tanglewood catalogue from back in April 1998. Looking at there photographs you have, it seems like a mixture of 2 guitars? ? The top and binding are the same as The Natural series from that year which states Solid Cedar top, Mahogany back and sides. BUT, you have a pearl inlay on the 12 th fret and a bounced fingerboard, which was the Natural DLX, which had a solid Cedar top, Rosewood sides and a solid Rosewood back. The DLX also had vintage gold tuning gears. I could send you a picture/acan of the actual page. You seem to have a Natural DLX with a different inlay on the soundboard? It could well be that either a previous year and year after they changed the specs but this is what I have from this catalogue. Funny, I've been collecting catalogues for years, and before the internet etc, you would have to send away for the catalogues or pick them up at guitar shows and shops. I sent away to Collings etc years ago and they did not have catalogues, so they sent me a price list with actual photographs of their guitars, I'll have to document them all one day. .......but I digress. Hope the above helps, Graham Collect guitar catalogues? You may be interested in these then........ linkPhil

Hey Phil, Funny thing is, I think I have those Martin catalogues. Also have one from the late 60's with the price list. Unbelievable. All the catalogues are in the loft......very hot catalogues. G

Yes..it's a Natural DLX. I have the same +guitar with this cube-like patterned rosette. Tanglewood got back to me with pics from their 1998 c'log which show the Natural DLX with the 'other' rosette. I raised this with them & they suggested it was not unknown for such detailing to be changed about, from one model to another similar model.

I went through the same process and got my used Tanglewood purchase identified by them through a catalogue which they snr me a copy of. Funnily enough that was a DLX too. Not as old as yours though - a 2004 TW45 Sundance Pro Super Folk. If yours is anything like mine for build quality and sound then you could well have a great bargain. Happy music making with it! Mark
